My Rachel Zoe (lol)

April 22, 2009 at 1:27 am (personal)

I have a roommate named Jessica who is one of my best friends. One of the things we love to do most together, like most girls, is shop. Jessica has an amazing fashion sense and has an eye for new trends. When we shop I feel like I have my own personal shopper. As a joke I refer to her as “my own Rachel Zoe”. Rachel Zoe is a well known stylist to the stars.  We love having any excuse for dressing up. The only downfall is that Statesboro doesn’t have as  many stores to choose from but we manage.

Wrapping up another semester

April 22, 2009 at 12:31 am (personal)

So this semester is about to end. I only have about two weeks left and surprisingly, it is kind of sad. The semester has flown by and so much has happened just over the last few months. As another school year winds down I am that  much closer to graduating. A thought that scares me. I still feel like I am no where near being prepared for that step. I am realizing that I really need to start joining clubs and getting more involved and gaining any experiance I can in order to prepare myself.

Easter Weekend

April 16, 2009 at 1:57 am (personal)

This past weekend was Easter. I went back home to spend the holiday with my family. It was a really nice weekend and it was good to get out of Statesboro for a change of pace. I went home on Thursday night because luckily my Friday classes were cancelled. Friday I spent the day going to the mall with my mom and sisters. We saw the Hannah Montanna Movie while we were there. It was surprisingly good. We went to lunch together and then rented some movies and ordered pizza for dinner. It was the perfect relaxing day. Saturday we went to the International market in Dekalb. We bought live lobsters and produce and wines from different countries around the world. That night I headed downtown Atlanta to hang out with my best friend. Melissa and I have been friends since high school and luckily distance has not hindered our friendship. Sunday I woke up early and headed to church with my family. It was a very good service. Later in the afternoon we had a delicious easter lunch. Afterwards I drove back down to school, putting an end to a perfect weekend.

Congratulations Melinda

April 16, 2009 at 1:34 am (personal)

Today I recieved an exciting phone call. It was my sister Melinda. Even though I was talking to her over the phone I could tell she was excited, I could hear it in her voice. She is about to graduate form high school and she had her mother daughter brunch banquet earlier that day. Throughout middle school and high school she has cheered, Sideline and recently competitive. At the brunch the girls coach surprised everyone bu announcing that she would be giving out two scholarships to the girls. To Melinda’s surprise she was awarded a $500 scholarship. Her coach made a very touching speech and mentioned how Melinda always managed to keep a positive attitude and always put her team first. My mother was so proud she started crying. Melinda was so surprised, it was great to hear how proud of herself she was.

21st Birthday

April 16, 2009 at 1:16 am (personal)

I turned 21 April 4th. This was a birthday I have been looking forward to for a very long time. I had a great Night, four of my close friends from back home came down to visit and stay with me that weekend to celebrate. Eight of my other girlfriends joined us and we went out to dinner at a martini bar called Statesboro Brews. The restaurant was a very good choice, it had a good atmosphere and good food. It was really the company that I was with that made it a special birthday. After dinner we all came back to my house where we were joined with many of our guy friends. We all went out together later in the evening. After my birthday I really realized how lucky I am to have such good friends in my life. They made my birthday something I will never forget.

My family

April 16, 2009 at 1:06 am (personal)

My family is one of the most important things in my life. They mean the world to me. I have two sisters, bith are younger then me. My sister Melinda is a senior is about to graduate high school. She is one of my best friends. I was fortunate enough to have a sibling that I am so close in age to. We are able to talk about everything and it is a very special bind. My youngest sister is Rylie. She’s three and is so smart for her age. She’s actually my half sister, my mom remarried my junior year of high school to a man named Cary. He has grown to become more like a father figure in my life than I ever thought possible. Finally there is my mom. She has and continues to be there for me through everything I have gone through. I can talk to her about everything. I feel very lucky to have such a close relationship with her, and blessed to have the family I have.

spring break ’09

April 16, 2009 at 12:52 am (personal)

This year I had an absolutly amazing spring break! I decdedto go on a cruise with nine of my close friends. The cruise line we went on was called Norweigian Cruise Line, or NCL. The name of our ship was the ‘Norwegian Sky”. We left from the Miami port on Monday March 16th. The cruise lasted for four days so we arrived back in Miami that Friday. When we first stepped onto the ship, I was amazed. The ship was breathtaking. It was huge and had everything from a casino to an auditorium for performances. There was a nightclub and a library and seven different restaurants for dinning. Tuesday was probably my favorite day of the vacation. That was the day we were docked in Nassau, Bahamas. We were on the most beautiful beach all day drinking out of coconuts surrounded by crystal clear water. We even got to go jet skiing. The rest of the trip was a lot of relaxing by the pool on the top deck of the ship. It was a great experience and I would strongly encourage anyone if given the opportunity to take a cruise vacation.
