Chapter 3: Legal Issues

September 3, 2009 at 7:09 pm (PRCA 3330)

This week in class we discussed Chapter 3 on our textbook (Public Relations Writing and Media Techniques).  The chapter covers the avoidance of legal hassles. One of the legal issues mentioned is trademarks. The books definition of trademark is “a word, symbol, or slogan, used singly or in combination, that identifies a product’s origin.”  I found a video that helped me to better understand the definition of trademark. It also mentions what you would need to trademark, and how to do it successfully. I found it useful and I hope you can also.

Thanks for the video. This really helped me understand what trademarks actually are and there is just something about having some explain it to me verbally that is more understandable then written word. I liked his example of Apple Computers too!
